First Time Mommy Aint Easy!

Wow... its really not easy being a first time mommy wor.. Celeste is 3 days old now.. and she is on total breast feeding...

I am giving her feeds every 2 - 2.5 hours.. But in the afternoons, i try to give her every 1.5 hours and mostly 2 - 2.5 hours in the nights.. she feeds on each side for about 20 mins.. but after some advices and baby's habits, i am letting her latch on one side for 20 mins at least then switch to another side for as long as she wants but also exceeding 20 mins.. PD say her reserves will be used up by now and i need to feed her more.

First 2 days in the hospital, she dun have signs of jaundice, but upon discharge, she was tested jaundice level at 8.8.. thou mild but i have to let her drink more to expel the jaundice in her..

I havent been sleeping cause i am trying my best to give her as much as possible. but i know rest more will have more milk, so alvin will take over when he wakes up and i will sleep until shes ready for her next feed..

It is very tiring but very joyful to be a mother. When i see her, all the pain and worries jus disappear. Im glad hubby is arnd to support me thruout.. :)

My Labour Story

26 June 2010 - 27 June 2010

730am - reached TMC, was asked to go into the delivery ward.. once i reach here, i was asked to change into the gown then hubby go and do administration things... then he went to have bfast with francis while i stay here..

- Shaved there a bit
- Pump in some medication to poo poo
missy ask me to try and tahan for 10 mins... but i not yet 5 mins alr buay tahan liao.. hahaha
- went to poo
and jus wait and wait...

9am - dr ang came after a csect and he inserted a pill inside for contractions and asked to remove my ctg in about 20 mins time and bed rest for another hour if not the pill will drop... so i jus waited lor.. i THOUGHT can walk arnd.. but cannot wor... so upset

1010am - went to pee and start surfing net in the delivery ward with contractions coming on and off.. waiting for dr ang to come at 12+pm to burst my water bag...

1040am - took a delifrance tuna sandwich.. missy say later contraction get stronger jiu cannot eat liao.... then i faster eat... heard that later i will be on drip.. u know what i fear MOST?? its DRIPS!!!!!

Alright... all those stated above are typed and saved bit by bit when i was still sane.. haha..

After that, i was stuck in the observation ward for 16 hours.. no walking, and total confine on bed.. contractions came as close as per min but wasnt very dilated.. then waited and waited and waited.. till about 11pm.. i was only 5 cm dilated..

Dr Ang was quite sure that i will continue to dilate and since Celeste is small, we prob can get her out when im 7cm..

but i didnt want to take any risk leaving her inside with my water bag burst 16 hours ago even thou her heart beat is still strong...

so i decided to go for emergency csect with GA (meaning, put to sleep)

i was very upset and disappointed.. i really wanna deliver her naturally can hear her cry.. when i delivered Julius, i was fully dilated in 4 hours after water bag burst.. but not for Celeste.. Missy tell me that she is choosing time to come out.. sigh...

i was pushed to OT.. then i told the dr doing GA for me..

"when will i wake up?"
"when u deliver finish, u will wake up"
"ok.."

then it was all drama.. 2 assistants, 1 dr doing GA for me and when i was half drowsy, i saw dr ang in his op suite.. then i was being masked and keep asking me to breathe in and i was so scared they dunno im awake so i kept making noise until i konk off..

next thing i woke up, what i saw was ceiling.. dunno where i am but i could hear voices.. so i said (in my super duper drowsy mode)

"Where am i?"
"u are at the OT, waiting for nurses to come and pick u up?"
"Hows baby?"
"Baby is good, they sent her to the nursery"
"Wheres my husband?"
"They are all waiting for u.."

Then the nurses came and pushed me back to my ward.. then when i saw alvin, i asked him for baby again..

"Baby look like who?"
"Baby look like alvin!" (my SIL voice)

then i was carried from one bed to another.. and i was screaming in pain cause i got no pain killer on and my wound is still fresh.. Alvin say he hear my scream he also scared.. and yes, the pain is like ur skin tearing apart..

then i kinda regain back a bit... but i rested till 430am and baby was pushed in to my ward.. Celeste jus finish her warmer session and i latched her on..

Seeing her in my arms.. whatever pain also gone.. I finally have a small family with my husband. I finally gave him our creation and materialized this pregnancy...

25 June 2010 - Stomach Cramps

Had cramps since morning... its not the normal braxton hicks but more like menstrual cramps...
at first, i tot its poo poo pain, so i jus went to poo.. then still pain, so i tot its gastric.. so i went to have food... then still pain but i keep telling myself that its not contraction...

spoke to esther on the phone and was telling her i wanna get some stuff.. so met her at JP to buy them... with the on and off cramps, we managed to shop for abt 3 hours.. and i reached home about 5+pm... then i still have cramps so decided to call dr ang clinic and was asked to go see him...

dr ang checked me baby is ok, water level is good, bb is at 2.7kg and im slightly dilated. after some discussion, we decided to play safe and choose to induce bb tomorrow morning at TMC.

Please pray for our safety... will update my labour story soon!

The Dad Is More Kan Cheong Than Me!

last night, hubby was massaging my swollen legs and hands.. and he suddenly spoke between my legs and say... "Baby Girl, where is papa hands?" and without fail, Celeste starts her search left and right... then hubby say.. "there, follow the sound and come out and u can find papa hands liao... u come out, papa will kiss u, carry u and play with u.."

Aiyo... so sweet la!

Then i started laughing and can feel that baby is drilling there.. then he say.. "u faster come out, papa wanna play with u..."

haha.. and i think he lost himself that he kept talking between my legs and i start to laugh...

He is very very anxious and hoping that baby can pop like.. NOW.. haha.. but im glad his around to love baby... :) I know he will be a great dad.

Please be considerate

U know... pregnant woman will be seriously sensitive to certain smell.. and we will puke the moment we smell it.

Example.. alvin bought maggie goreng for me ytd but the uncle packed mee goreng instead.. and i am very sensitive to the yellow ghee taste but i was too hungry and decided to swallow it. i ended up feeling super terrible and i had to sleep 45 degrees so that i dun puke.

i really hope there are more sensitive pple arnd or pple, please be more sensitive and understanding. its very irritating and annoying when u really cannot control the pukey feeling. and when they are most aware of it.. yet...

sometimes, i really dun wanna post such things in my blog. but heck, this is my blog. i write what i wanna write, i say what i wanna say. like it or not, its my blog. dun like, dun see.. i shudnt be sensitive to pple who are insensitive.

there are more things that i will be writing soon.. once im more prepared to share, i will start saying it out straight. whether i start offending pple or not, i seriously cannot be bothered anymore.

Dr Ang is having his holidays and will be back next tues.. so cross fingers ah... baby celeste is so far so good.. shes been very cooperative recently except for the on off contractions that i have in the mornings.. i didnt eat the medication that Dr Ang give to stop contraction cause i wanna let nature take its course for the contraction part.. (actually, i cant wait for her to come out la.. hahahaha)

So far, i've done most of what i wanna do except my eye brow.. shall do it next week and im ready for the tedious confinement..

i might not be able to complete the food craving list.. but i chao chao must eat the chwee kuay la... the taste keep lingering in my mouth lei... okok.. set.. monday i shall go and eat....

i got take pictures.. but... lazy to upload.. okok.. shall do that soon too...

See no evil, hear no evil

These few days, i got hit by a few disappointing events and unbearable scenes.. It woke me up and make me think if its all worth it. And now, here i am, choosing what i want to see, hear and do. This pregnancy make me realise many things and make me know what i want after this chapter of life.

No point getting annoyed by other pple things.. of coz, pple annoy me and being someone close to us, it makes me feel even more disappointed. But its ok, they made their stand, i made my stand. If not for my mom, i dont think i can even walk thru these unhappy incidents. But at least now, im clear of where im heading and what i plan to do. And even more certain.

After all these, i rather spend time out alone, doing things i wanna do and make myself happy. So i went for a hair cut, pedicure and eat food that i want to eat.

I also spent more time with hubby going to airport for a little getaway and chit chat..

To be honest, im physically very strained but to be happier, i decided to drag this tired body out and at least im happier. Poor hubby had to accommodate to me and making him even more tired.

We cant wait for Celeste's arrival and shower her with our love. Nothing is more precious than parental love. Finally, hubby and i have our own family. We will work hard together to make this a happy and xin fu family.

2 more Saturdays and we can see Celeste!!!! Super anxious..

Im done with the cleaning up, now have to re pack my hospital bag and see what i had miss out... then next week, i plan to do some stuff and beautify myself so Celeste wont get to see an auntie mommy.. hahaa

1. Trim my fringe and dry ends
2. Mani Pedi - cause i cant reach my toes now...
3. Eyebrows
   

All these to be done and get ready for the dirty and oily 1 mth confinement!! wahaha.. at least i must be able to tie up my hair, dun look so fatigue.. haha

i also need to contact my massage lady to come massage for me during my confinement.. if u want her contact, jus drop me a msg on my tagboard ok? Shes good.. i like her.. used her last year and will be using her this time round too..

Braxton Hicks

Had been getting this at least once a day, at the same time (when i wake up)... it feels like u wanna LS, and gonna have a long war in the toilet, but when u go toilet.. nothing comes out... haha.. i tot i had food poisoning at first.. then i realise that its BH! So now, i bo chap, i jus let it pain, count the duration and interval and forget about gg toilet to try..

And my MIL says.... "its wind heaty" -_-''' how to explain to her what is BH lei? hmm.. a bit tough.. so i jus let it be ba...

BH is like a rehearsal for the actual contractions.. it prepares ur body for the actual thing.

have u heard of this? (Fang, if u think hiccups is amazing, this is lagi amazing)

Recently, i keep having the urge to clean up the room esp the tiny corner where the baby cot is.. wherever can be dirty, but not baby's cot, underneath the cot, the fan above it and the wall behind it.. so i told hubby that we are gg to clean up the walls of the room, disinfect it with dettol..

And u know what? i was surfing the net about it (cause i happen to read abt it before).. and i realise that daddies also have nesting instincts de lei.. and i suddenly recalled alvin telling me.. he wants to wash the fan and he will not smoke in the room from Sat onwards and he will throw all the ashtrays in the room.. O.O!!!

And guess what? im starting to have more intense pain due to Braxton Hicks! I will tell u more in my next post and also share with u what i have bought for Celeste and also my weekly CTGs :)

2 weeks more to conquer all the food.. WAHAHA

Before i deliver and go thru the confinement food, i decided to list down the food that i wanna eat before i deliver.. i shall eat them with ah lao... wahaha... its a promise to myself!!

1. Tiong Bahru Chwee Kuay
2. Char Kuay Teow
3. Ba Teng and porridge - done
4. Nasi Lemak Ikan Bilis with Chilli - done
5. Prawn Noodles Soup
6. Fish and Chips - done
7. Lor Mee
8. Chicken Rice with chilli

Gynae Check Up!!

Went to visit the gynae today... :) Our Celeste is weighing 2.5kg at 34weeks 3 days.. Dr Ang say that baby is in a healthy weight range.. :) As for me, no weight gain...!! As of today, i only gained 4.5kg nia.. wonder why my bb gained the weight from...

Anyway.. was given admission letter and was asked to admit when i have signs of labour.. (Hear liao also kan cheong right??)

I was put on CTG and was asked to come back to clinic weekly for CTG till i deliver.. While we are on CTG, we heard the heart beat and suddenly there was a "pomp".. haha.. cause our darling girl punched the CTG device.. haha.. she also tried to use her leg to sweep it away and we could hear brushing noise.. haha.. so cute la..

Gynae told me that i am ready for delivery as bb's head is down liao.. induction can take place at week 37 too.. All of us got very excited.. kekekee

Gynae will be away next week for 5 days.. then i will be back to see him again :) Soon.. Soon i will be posting Celeste's pic le!! haha

Oh Oh.. Celeste was sucking thumb when we saw her on ultrasound!

Cant wait.. please pray for our safety ok? Thanks!!
