A place where we call HOME Part 1

After 3 years of pak tor and 4 years of marriage, we finally have our own roof!
It happened very quickly... just one fine day, i whatsapp hubb "why not we jus look for a 3room, when kids grow up then we move to a 4 room lor" cause initially we are bioing for a 4 room ma...

Right after that, i went to iproperty to search and decided to find a few to "view" and get the hang of it... after like.. 30 mins.. i saw "low cash" HAHA.. to be honest, i have NO CASH... but i thought, maybe we shud jus check it out...

It's just 2 streets away and the cov is pretty low as compared to what others are quoting.. i saw one house beside my current place.. COV $40k! OMG.... so i got hubb to take 1 hour time off and we went to see.. haha.. so siao on right?

I brought Baby C along to let me test for us.. see if she will be all cranky, if she does, then how cheap we also wont buy.. hahaha..

Oh well, everything went very fast.. Before that, i called my mom to tell her about it.. and she say its more impt to get a house now, so she wont mind loaning us the COV $.. i feel so blessed... so we went to see the flat and put the deposit..

Following day, we went to HDB to do the HLE loan application cause we were suppose to "test view" ma, so we got nothing prepared... we told them to get it done urgently... so true enough, we got it the next working day...! hahaha... After deducting the grants, we can afford our new house!

Then we went ahead to get the floor plan and stuff.. and went to search for ideas to do our house... well.. we are gg for a reno loan.. but if say reno loan not approve, how? so we gotta have back up plans... the house is in its VERY original HDB condition, a 20+ year old flat.. so we need to get some impt things done like re wiring, wet works and stuff

So i decided to update here too!

Aircon
Yesterday, we just went to IMM for dinner and decided to see the gain city aircon... the sales there was not too enthu nor informative.. so we went to BEST TECH.. well.. ok, he quoted us similar unit but cheaper than gain city and offered us to change to a better pipe/tube (whatever u call it) at no extra cost. So we put a small small deposit to secure the price.

Flooring (LR + Common BR + MBR)
To save on cost, we decided to overlay the floor with vinyl wood planks and was recommended by Joyce for her floor contractor... He came over to my place today to show us samples and quoted us a pretty reasonable price and since we got good comments and feedback from friends, then i think it shud be ok.. About $1800 to overlay them. If i were to hack and lay tiles, it will cost me $3-4k! so i think still ok ba...

Hood & Hob
We saw a hood and hob from IMM... Brand is Ellane.. i saw from reno forums about this brand and the price is ok.. $300+ each.. so now im thinking if i shud or shud not have the hood. I will be cooking everyday for hubb and baby as we (me and ILs) agreed to visit their place once a week for dinner cause hubb knocks off late and its quite tiring for him to run up and down even thou its 2 streets away...

Painting Works
Got a quote of $700+ for 3 room flat including toilets, ceilings, dual coat, 3 colour etc... :)

Alright... still got some quotations coming in, let see how it goes..

Heres what im going to do..

1. get separate quotes from diff contractors
2. get a single quote from a main con to submit for reno loan

IF reno loan approve, i will proceed to get the main con to do.. if NOT, then at least i did my homework and reno works can proceed as usual.. but i jus need to play with time to pay those initial deposits lor so we wont be caught in a bottle neck situation.

Been really busy

With?? Haha.. With baby, my mom and..... Our home.. Yes OUR.. With the help of my mommy (financially), we managed to find a 3 room flat.. Now waiting for hdb appt and most likely to take our keys in jan..

Very stress cause we cannot afford for reno.. So now trying to do it within our very tight budget..

I hope things will turn out well and we can build our cosy home..

Baby's ok, very active very sai nai.. Im bz entertaining her..

My very first time

Was at mama's house ytd with bb.. then... we (me and hubb) decided to go makan downstairs since jessie sis commented that the wanton mee is nice.. so we left bb with my mom and went to eat... Bb was fed, on the bed and mama sat beside her

After makan and i was walking back... i felt like... pak tor times.. then i told hubb.. "dear, this is the first time i go "out" without bb u know?" hahaha! a sense of relieve of coz but even if it was a 30 min affair.. gosh.. i miss Celeste la.. hahaha..

when i reached home.. then i ask my mom.. "did she cry?" my mom say.. "no.. but i pat her she dun wan to slp" haha.. of coz la.. cause dun have the right smell ma.. haha

my mom say.. "i dun dare to go anyway.. i jus sit here and play with her" haha.. first time grandma.. so cute... my mom kept telling Celeste "ah ma dote u alot alot alot you know?" and kept calling her "cute cute girl" and my mom is super happy when C responses to her.. haha.. she also told Celeste.. "ah ma never see you for a few days, ah ma will miss you lei.."

Ask me... yeah, without Celeste, i feel like.. i dun have to be that careful.. haha.. but then again.. the maternal instinct is strong and feel like i have to take care of her..

now that C is self adjusting her feeding interval to 3 hours.. i am slightly more relax but still trying to get used to it.. cause in the past, i have to rush to feed her while she was on 2 hourly feed.. :)

After my mom fell, i felt that its really tough being a good mom, good daughter and good wife.. I remember when i carried Celeste to the hosp and mom saw me.. she ask me why i bring C to the hosp.. i told her.. "u are my mom, i have to take care. shes my bb, i also have to take care. i cannot split myself into 2" then she kept quiet. u can scold me for bringing C to the hospital.. but i got a lao bu who didnt eat anything since 3pm till 9+pm.. and had to be in the ob ward for next 3 hours.. so who is going to feed my mom?? My bb is on 3hourly feed but i know i will at the hosp for more than 3 hours and no one is at home.. so how?

well.. im glad we went..

i cooked for mom.. even thou she say she not hungry.. she still ate 2 bowls of porridge.. and shes so happy when she saw Celeste..

Just this morning, she told me over the phone "i see Celeste, whatever worries also forget"

You see, my mom is not those who loves kids or babies.. she will not try to carry bb cause shes afraid to and she wont sit there to "entertain" them.. but Celeste and her got this... affinity? fate? erm.. how to say... on the day when my mom fell, Celeste was crying non stop at home until i called my mom then she stopped. At the point when she was in OT fixing her hand, Celeste also crying until she went hosp and see her ah ma then she stop.. u know what i mean? coincidence maybe... but... these 2 ladies sure have some yuan fen there...

Shouldnt Nov be Better?

My mom just fell down last monday.... Well.. its a long story and we ended up going to SGH A&E last sat.. Thank god for having a wonderful hubby, he accompanied mom to hospital and wait and wait for all the procedures to be done while i stayed at home to take care of bb and pacing up and down the house. I went to the hospital to deliver food for mom as soon as she is done with her procedures and left home at 2+am while hubby left hospital at 3am and sending mom back...

Celeste is also getting very active but thank god she still maintained a little bit of routine if not i will go crazy.... hahhaa.. and also thank god for letting her know what to do during day time and what to do during night... if not, i will be a zombie by now.

She loves to smile and smile and smile.. very curious baby too... she loves papa more than mama.. haha... IM JEALOUS.

oh well, im always the stricter one ma.. Parenthood is very good so far. i love being a mom and hubby is enjoying his life as a papa.. He helps out after work with bb while i do my own stuff too...

Everyone dotes Celeste a lot esp my mom... i remember just last week, i visited her with C, she insisted on carrying C with 1 hand (sitting) despite her injured left hand... and can tell mama was very excited to see her.

When i brought C to Treston's party, everyone cant wait for her to wake up.. the moment she wakes up, she is passed around like a ball.. haha..

Last sat, when we were at the hospital, there was an old lady who was very very sick.. the moment she saw C and C gave her the signature million dollar smile.. the old lady came alive... im serious.. the old lady's eyes lit up and start to play with C, forgetting her illness.. Same goes to mom, she scolded me for bringing C to hosp but i told her i do not have a choice cause i wanna take care of my mama and my baby.. what can i do? But as soon as she saw Celeste... alamak.. she forgot all about scolding me.. hahahahaha..

Well... i hope everything gets better. and i seriously need to go pray man.. really...
